Thing #7

I had never taken the time to look at different parts of Google, and I had heard of Google Earth but had never investigated. It is fantastic.

Thing #6

I spent too much time looking at other people's fantastic photos. What fun vicariously visiting the Grand Canyon, Churchill Downs, Seattle Mariners.

Thing #5

Flickr is amazing!! Since I am returning to Louisville, KY, for my high school reunion I wanted to see some recent photos, and I especially wanted to see the hotel where I am staying since I have heard mixed reviews. After looking at the photos I can see why many people may be upset.

Houston Public Library Reopening

Have you seen the copy of the calendar of events for the grand re-opening of the Houston Public Library? I am appalled! The one person on the cover is dressed to look like a Goth, complete with three of the five major body modifications including tattoo (large and in color), mouth piercing, earlobe stretching. I guess they are attempting to reach a young audience; however, what kind of a message does this send?!? Afterall, Houston is an ethnically diverse community, so why don't they include people of Asian, African, young, old, people with disabilities to show that Houston Public Library reaches out to ALL of its citizens? I just cannot believe that the powers that be let this get by them.

Thing #4

I registered my blog with my kickball captain, and I am hoping to hear back from her soon.

Thing #3

I created my blog and tried avatar, but I can't seem to export it. I would love to have another player by my side so that we could help each other.

Thing #2

After viewing the 7 1/2 habits I believe the easiest ones are #1-Setting a goal and #1/2-Play. My goal is to feel comfortable with blogging and learning as I play 23 Things. By playing with my grandsons who are two and three I am learning and re-learning childhood experiences. We are teaching them sign language, and we are all able to communicate fairly well. The hardest habit for me is #3-Viewing problems as challenges. I had a problem in an spreadsheet today, and I tried about six different ways to complete it, as it was quite lengthy; however, I finally had to go to our Tech, and the answer was so simple.
